School of Engineering Technology

The School of Engineering Technology at Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) streamlines the effort of academics and industry to serve as mentors and coaches for the potential students across the country. The college is built on a collaborative culture to achieve our mission that addresses the requirements of our community. The growth and success in energy, industry, environment, health, sustainable development, security, and privacy all entail a mix of technological, political, economic, and cultural factors. We graduate applied engineers with high capabilities (technical, ethical and personal skills) to identify these problems. Therefore, a curricula we target is a dynamic, diverse, flexible, and adaptive one with required foundation in fundamental sciences and personal skills. The curricula balancing the knowledge, skills and hands on practice to optimally apply engineering principles to make a positive difference in Jordan and the world.

School of Engineering Technology aims to be a great environment that fosters inter-personal character with great emphasis on technical critical connections. We aim to be a world-class applied engineering school in the heart of KHBP. The campus is supportive that aims to harness technical and innovative businesses. This will target various entrepreneurs from different backgrounds. The School of Engineering Technology applies a strict ethical standard for its services and teaching.

The School offers the following programs:

Mechanical Engineering

The Mechanical engineering program will create solutions and solve problems in the design and implementation of moving parts in a range of industries. It provides efficient solutions to the development of processes and products, ranging from small component designs to extremely large plant, machinery or vehicles.

As a mechanical engineer you can work on all stages of a product, from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning. Most industries rely on a form of mechanical systems and mechanical engineering, because of that, there are employment opportunities in a range of sectors, including but not limited to: aerospace, automotive, biomedical, construction, manufacturing, energy, and general industries.

The program will also focus on courses related to the management of projects and resources, as well as the development and use of new materials and technologies.

Electrical Engineering

The Electrical engineering program deals with the study of design, development, and maintenance of electrical and electronic systems and their components, ensuring quality, safety, reliability, and sustainability. Student can specialize with a wide range of subfields including electronics, digital computers, power engineering, telecommunications, control systems, Biomedical engineering, signal processing, instrumentation, industrial automation, microelectronics, and nanotechnology. Many of these sub-disciplines overlap and also overlap with other engineering branches, spanning a huge number of specializations such as hardware engineering, power electronics, energy storage, electromagnetics & waves, microwave engineering, electrochemistry, renewable energies, mechatronics, electrical materials science, and many more.

Students will be able to operate, develop, design and manufacture electrical equipment used in a number of sectors including factories, control stations, communication facility, construction and building and the production and distribution of power.

Energy Engineering

The energy engineering program will be dealing with energy efficiency, energy services, facility management, plant engineering, environmental compliance and alternative energy technologies. The program combines knowledge from the fields of electrical, mechanical and thermal engineering with sound economic and environmental engineering practices.

As an energy engineer you will apply your skills to increase efficiency and further develop renewable sources of energy. You will be able to find the most efficient and sustainable ways to operate buildings and manufacturing processes, audit the use of energy, and suggest ways to improve the systems. You will be able to suggest advanced lighting, better insulation, more efficient heating and cooling properties of buildings. You will have the expertise to deal with several forms of renewable energy like hydro, solar, biomass, or geothermal. One of the areas where you can be employed in is the oil and natural gas extraction.
