The School of Computing and Informatics (SCI) offers education in the areas of computer science and information sciences. SCI is trying to answer the unprecedented need for knowledgeable IT personnel that will contribute to the building of the next-generation information systems, in both private and public sectors. At HTU, we place a strong emphasis on our links with the industry to ensure that our programs remain agile and relevant. In an ever fast paced and rapidly changing industry, we make sure that our students are always up to date with the latest skills needed to compete in the job market.
The School of Computing and Informatics pays special attention to the cognitive domains of knowledge in computing and information technology that are compatible with the requirements of the labor market.
The School of Computing and Informatics includes two academic departments, the Department of Computer Science, and the Department of Computer Informatics, which offer programs at three levels of academic qualifications: a bachelor’s degree, a technical degree (informatics technician), and a technician's degree (technician), taking into consideration the requirements of the labor market in the twenty-first century on the local, regional and international levels, which will enable graduates to compete for various job opportunities in their fields of their majors.
The school also contains many laboratories equipped with the latest equipment and advanced technological tools, allowing students to apply concepts in a practical way and develop their technical skills.
