Al Hussein Technical University and Ampere Renewable Energy Company sign a Memorandum of Understanding
(21 November, 2022, Monday) - Amman - AlHussein Technical University (HTU) and Ampere have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to work towards the shared goal of supporting Jordanian youth in their pursuit of quality and market-driven technical education through academic-industrial collaboration.
Under the MoU, Ampere will provide paid apprenticeships for HTU students at their facilities every semester, with the goal of enhancing the students' employability and skills. Ampere will also support HTU graduate students in finding jobs at their Renewable Energy Company facilities and will provide job opportunities for HTU graduates when needed.
In addition, Ampere will accept trainees from the German Energy Academy for internships in PV, EE, or carbon, and will provide trainers on carbon services to the German Energy Academy, as well as in-kind donations of demo components or equipment for use in training. Ampere will also assist in developing training material with HTU academic staff regarding carbon services to be offered at the German Energy Academy.
Ampere will hold training sessions in areas of expertise for the apprentices, and both parties will co-hold conferences, seminars, or workshops where technical information, research equipment, and facilities can be shared. This MoU represents a significant step forward in the partnership between HTU and Ampere and will contribute to the development of a mutually beneficial academic-industrial collaboration system.
This agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Ismail AlHinti on behalf of AlHussein Technical University, and Mr. Firas Al-Khatib on behalf of Ampere. The meeting was attended by a number of members of the administrative body of the two parties.
It is worth noting that HTU is one of the initiatives of the Crown Prince Foundation. It is a non-profit, private Jordanian national university that provides an educational model that enhances basic and technical skills in the various engineering fields required for the labor market. It mainly seeks to reduce the gap between theoretical knowledge and applications. The process, and the promotion of the spirit of initiative and the creative and intellectual energies of students. The university also works to serve the local community by providing training programs targeting university students looking for work. It also works to inform and expand the perceptions of school students from various governorates in Jordan on the latest scientific and practical specializations required in the labor market.
