Al-Hussein Technical University Holds its Third Career Day Under the Patronage of Minister of Labor

[14th of July 2024, Monday] - AMMAN - Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) successfully hosted its third Career Day under the esteemed patronage of the Minister of Labor, Nadia Al-Rawabdeh, and the presence of the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Labor, Farouk Al-Hadidi. This day was attended by current students and graduates of HTU, students of the Upskilling Program, students of the German Energy Academy at the university, and students of Indian Jordan Center of Excellence in Information Technology.

The Career Day featured participation from over 85 local and international companies, offering more than 400 employment opportunities. Also, the event included an exhibition highlighting student projects in technological and architectural engineering, and information technology.

During the event, Mr. Farouk Al-Hadidi delivered a speech in which he praised the university's outstanding efforts in the field of technical education. He emphasized the government's awareness of the importance of equipping Jordanian youth with the necessary skills to secure employment opportunities. Consequently, the government has restructured vocational and technical education through partnerships between Jordanian universities and the Ministries of Labor and Digital Economy to adopt professional programs that meet the future job market requirements and are supervised by international accreditation bodies.

He added that the goal of technical education is to prepare students for the job market, which requires focusing on developing their skills and competencies to enable them to take advantage of the new opportunities offered by the Fourth Industrial Revolution and digital transformation.

While Dr. Hussam Khasawneh, Director of the Industry Partnership Office, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in bridging the gap between academic learning and the job market. He stated, "Our primary goal is to enhance the employability of our graduates by providing them with real-world opportunities and direct interaction with industry leaders."

Prof. Ismael Al-Hinti, President of HTU, highlighted the university's commitment to fostering strong industry-academic partnerships. "We believe that the collaboration between educational institutions and the industry is crucial for the development of a skilled workforce. Today’s Career Day is a testament to our dedication to creating a pathway for our students to achieve their career aspirations," he remarked.

Ms. Dana Al-Dajani, Senior Vice President - Programs and Partnerships at the Abdul Aziz Al-Ghurair Fund for Refugee Education, also delivered a powerful speech, noting, "The support and opportunities provided by HTU to its diverse student body are remarkable. It is inspiring to see the university's efforts in nurturing talent and fostering an inclusive environment that prepares students for a dynamic and challenging job market."
