Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense of Ireland, Micheál Martin, visited Al-Hussein Technical University on Thursday. The university is one of the initiatives of the Crown Prince Foundation. The reception was attended by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Azmi Mahafzah, and the President of Al Hussein Technical University, Prof. Ismael Al-Hinti.
During the visit, Minister Martin was briefed on the university's technical model and its qualitative programs by the university president. He also learned about the latest entrepreneurship and innovation programs in the university's core business incubator and accelerator. Martin met with a group of young entrepreneurs who had the opportunity to visit Ireland earlier in the year, getting insights into their projects and experiences.
Later on, the Minister met with students participating in the "Jordan Young Scientist" initiative, who showcased their specialized technological projects across various fields. The participating teams included students from different public and private schools, as well as military cultural schools.
This visit marks an important step in enhancing cultural and academic relations between the two countries. It is expected to have a lasting impact on promoting opportunities for academic and cultural exchange, as well as sharing experiences in various sectors.
It is worth mentioning that HTU is one of the initiatives of the Crown Prince Foundation, established to promote technical education in Jordan, offering bachelor's and intermediate degrees in engineering and computer science. The university is headquartered at the King Hussein Business Park.
"Jordan Young Scientist" initiative, launched for the first time in Ireland almost sixty years ago, is an international initiative. It provides a significant platform for young scientists to showcase their potential and shape a brighter future by highlighting their talents, enhancing their capabilities to contribute to the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
