German Energy Academy in Jordan Held its First Graduation Ceremony

Under the patronage of His Excellency Saleh A. Al-Kharabsheh, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, and the participation of representative of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Jordan, First Secretary Ms. Christine Knüpfer, the German Energy Academy in Jordan (GEA) held on 14th February, at Al Hussein Technical University, its first graduation ceremony for 39 graduates, the ceremony  attended by the Academy partners also different private and public entities in the energy sector in Jordan.

The ceremony marked the successful completion of medium-term trainings in Energy Efficiency and Solar PV Installation and the passing of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK MENA) exam, as well as the recognition of “trainer of trainees” by AHK accreditation. The GEA focuses on upskilling mainly technicians to integrate them well in the energy market in Germany and Jordan.

GEA was established in October 2021 in Jordan through the support of the Jordanian German Energy Partnership – commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and implemented in partnership with the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Its activities are implemented with the support of several Jordanian and German founding partners: Al Hussein Technical University, German Jordanian University, National Electric Power Company represented by the Electric Training Center, Amman Chamber of Industry, German Solar Association represented by Ideas Into Energy (IIE), and the Germany-based educational institution NIUVERSITY. In addition, the accreditation of the academy to meet the German standards of vocational education and training is provided by AHK.
