His Majesty King Abdullah II Bestows the Order of Independence (First Class) on Al Hussein Technical University

[Saturday, May 25, 2024] - Amman - Today, His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein conferred the Order of Independence (First Class) on Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) in honor of its significant contributions to the advancement of higher education, particularly through its focus on project-based learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to meet labor market demands. The award was received by HTU President Professor Ismael Al-Hinti.

HTU, a Crown Prince Foundation initiative, was established in 2016 as a national non-profit private university. Its primary mission is to bridge the gap between higher education outputs and real labor market requirements by integrating theoretical knowledge with project-based learning in STEM fields.

HTU places a strong emphasis on both practical and technical skills, as well as personal and life skills. The university is dedicated to preparing graduates for the dynamic and ever-changing industrial sector. This is achieved through partnerships with over 190 companies across local, regional, and international industrial and business sectors, providing each student with a real-world experience during an eight-month professional internship.

Currently, the university has over 2200 students enrolled in various programs at the bachelor's and associate technical degree levels. These programs include architecture engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, energy engineering, computer science, data science and artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and game design and development.

In addition to its student programs, HTU offers up-skilling courses for community members who have completed their education but are still seeking employment. The Skill Development Program has successfully graduated over 2500 students in communications and information technology fields, enhancing their skills and increasing their employability in technical fields.
