HTU and Green Pioneers Company Sign MoU to Promote Environmental Awareness and Community Engagement
Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), one of the Crown Prince Foundation’s initiatives, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Green Pioneers Company to strengthen collaboration in promoting environmental responsibility and community service.
The agreement was signed by Prof. Ismael Al-Hinti, President of HTU, and Mr. Alaa Al-Bakheet, representing Green Pioneers Company, in the presence of HTU administrative members, Mr. Mohammad Khalaf, CEO of Green Pioneers, and Eng. Mayson Al-Khreisat, HTU alumna and General Manager of Adaa Sustainable Development Consulting.
During the signing ceremony, Prof. Al-Hinti reaffirmed the university’s ongoing commitment to working with strategic partners to advance its mission of serving the community and protecting the environment. He emphasized that environmental preservation is a fundamental responsibility for all educational institutions, noting that HTU students have shown great enthusiasm to be part of the solution rather than the problem — a mindset that the university continues to nurture through gradual and sustainable initiatives.
In his remarks, Mr. Khalaf highlighted the challenges of shifting public perception and increasing awareness about waste recycling, particularly the importance of community-level sorting. He explained that Green Pioneers seeks partnerships that help spread this culture and make the process easier for institutions. The company provides waste-sorting bins, manages waste collection, and issues monthly reports to track progress and compliance.
Commenting on the partnership, Eng. Al-Khreisat praised the environmental awareness already demonstrated by HTU students, noting that many have established a student-led committee dedicated to promoting recycling through awareness campaigns and on-campus initiatives. She added that this MoU will further empower them to take concrete action for the benefit of both the environment and the community.
It is worth noting that Al Hussein Technical University is a national, non-profit Jordanian university that provides a distinctive educational model designed to enhance students’ technical and practical skills in engineering and technology. HTU aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application while fostering innovation, creativity, and social responsibility. The university also plays an active role in serving the community by providing training programs for unemployed youth and inspiring school students across Jordan to pursue science and technology fields aligned with market needs.
Meanwhile, Green Pioneers Company is a limited liability company specializing in solid waste recycling, working to minimize environmental harm by offering sustainable solutions for waste management and resource recovery.
