HTU and Jordan Chamber of Industry Sign MoU to Strengthen Academic–Industrial Collaboration and Support Technical Education

Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) and the Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for joint collaboration aimed at developing and supporting youth in their pursuit of technical education through an integrated academic–industrial cooperation system.
During the signing ceremony, Eng. Fathi Al-Jaghbir, President of both the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, emphasized the vital national role played by the Chamber in advancing Jordan’s industrial development and strengthening the sector’s contribution to the national economy. He highlighted the importance of aligning educational outcomes with labor market needs across industries and focusing on the technical dimension of manufacturing to enhance the competitiveness of Jordanian industry.
Al-Jaghbir added that the industrial sector is committed to transforming the academic sector’s efforts into tangible results through employment and workforce integration — which he described as the true measure of educational success. He reaffirmed the Chamber’s dedication to supporting academia as a key source of technically trained professionals that meet the evolving demands of the Jordanian market.
For his part, Prof. Ismael Al-Hinti, President of Al Hussein Technical University, expressed confidence in the Jordanian industrial sector, describing it as a cornerstone of the national economy and the largest employer of local talent. He noted that HTU—an initiative of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II—has become a leading model for technical education in Jordan, producing highly qualified graduates equipped with the practical and professional skills required by the labor market through modern and industry-relevant programs.
Prof. Al-Hinti added that the university’s vision is centered on achieving 100% employability for its graduates, and that HTU continuously tracks its alumni to ensure their successful transition into the workforce.
The memorandum was signed in the presence of Mr. Mohammad Walid Al-Jitan, Vice President of the Chamber and Representative of the Food Industries Sector, alongside several representatives from Jordan’s industrial sectors.
The agreement aims to enhance knowledge transfer and joint expertise exchange between both parties to serve their mutual interests. It includes provisions for coordinating field visits for HTU students to member companies of the Chamber, allowing them to explore the latest industrial technologies, experience real workplace environments, and participate in joint exhibitions, conferences, scientific days, and workshops.
Additionally, the MoU outlines cooperation in capacity building and technical training, including the organization of joint training courses, the sharing of industry experts’ practical experience through lectures and workshops, and hosting awareness sessions at HTU to strengthen students’ readiness for the labor market and enhance the overall quality of technical education.
