Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) and the Jordanian Microfinance Company – Tamweelcom signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at supporting students who seek high-quality technical education by providing them with accessible financial solutions to fund their studies and prepare them for future employment.
Under this agreement, Tamweelcom will support HTU’s student scholarship program by covering the tuition costs of one student annually—a student who is a child of one of Tamweelcom’s beneficiaries—at any of the university’s academic programs.
Additionally, Tamweelcom will support HTU’s professional apprenticeship program by hosting a number of students each semester for an eight-month internship period, offering them hands-on experience and continuous supervision to ensure their professional development and readiness for the job market.
The MoU was signed by Ms. Lamia Zawati, CEO of Tamweelcom, and Prof. Ismael Al-Hinti, President of Al Hussein Technical University.
During the signing ceremony, Ms. Zawati expressed her pride in this partnership, noting:
“This collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting education for the children of our beneficiaries. Over the years, Tamweelcom has sponsored the education of dozens of students across various fields, many of whom have successfully graduated and entered the labor market. We are proud to extend this support to HTU—an institution that plays a vital role in preparing skilled graduates ready to meet labor market demands.”
For his part, Prof. Al-Hinti emphasized the importance of this cooperation in expanding educational opportunities for youth regardless of their financial background, stating:
“We are delighted to work with Tamweelcom to ensure more students can access the level of education they aspire to. Training opportunities are equally crucial—they provide real-world experience and equip our students with the competencies needed to succeed in both local and global job markets.”
