HTU and the National Cyber Security Center Conclude the First National Cyber Warriors Championship

The first National Cyber Warriors Championship, organized jointly by the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) and Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) in collaboration with Octopian and Yogosha, concluded its activities today following two days of intense competition.

The championship featured 35 cybersecurity challenges and attracted 750 participants, out of whom 200 contestants advanced to the finals, forming 65 teams representing more than 20 universities and schools across the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The closing ceremony was held under the patronage of H.E. Ahmad Hanandeh, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, who attended on behalf of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II. The event also welcomed representatives of the sponsoring organizations, faculty and administrative members from HTU and the NCSC, and student teams from various Jordanian educational institutions.

In his remarks, Prof. Ismael Al-Hinti, President of Al Hussein Technical University, emphasized the importance of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein’s vision in fostering a safe and empowering environment for Jordanian youth—one that channels their potential toward innovation and national progress. He noted that this unique championship reflects the ideal model for engaging youth in developing their technical and digital skills, ensuring they remain at the forefront of Jordan’s secure and bright future.

Prof. Al-Hinti expressed his gratitude to the National Cyber Security Center for its partnership, describing it as a true and effective collaborator in advancing national efforts to empower youth and elevate Jordan’s educational and technical institutions. He also commended the participating students for their talent, ambition, and world-class performance, and extended appreciation to all sponsors for making the championship possible.

Eng. Bassam Al-Maharmeh, President of the National Cyber Security Center, praised the success of the event, describing it as a significant national achievement accomplished within a short time. He highlighted that the championship was designed to provide a safe and competitive platform for young people to practice ethical hacking and cybersecurity skills, in alignment with His Royal Highness’s vision of supporting and empowering Jordan’s exceptional youth.

Eng. Al-Maharmeh also noted the high level of persistence shown by participants and the remarkable increase in female participation—an encouraging sign of the growing inclusivity and ambition of Jordan’s next generation. He announced the intention to hold the championship annually to engage a broader group of passionate young talents and confirmed that the Center will continue to offer cybersecurity training programs for university students across the country.

The ceremony concluded with an awards presentation, honoring the event’s platinum sponsor—the Central Bank of Jordan, and gold sponsors—Cisco and the Al Hussein Fund for Excellence. Appreciation was also extended to Zain Jordan for providing technical support, Coca-Cola for in-kind sponsorship, and the event’s technology partners—Octopian, the technical partner, and Yogosha, developer of the championship’s digital platform.

Winning teams were announced for both the beginner and advanced categories.

• Advanced Category Winners: Net Cats (first place), Supernova (second place), and Luigi (third place).
