Amman - The Center for Professional Development and Community Outreach at Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) concluded the final capstone project presentations of the ICT Upskilling Program, implemented in partnership with Youth Grow Activity (YGA) and funded by the U.S. Embassy in Amman.
The two-day showcase marked the conclusion of a four-month training journey designed to equip participants with practical, market-relevant skills in key ICT and tech-enabled fields. During the event, participants presented applied technology projects before evaluation panels composed of trainers, technical experts, and representatives from the public and private sectors.
Throughout the program, participants completed 180 hours of specialized technical training across four tracks: Generative AI, UI/UX Design, DevOps, and Software Testing and Quality Assurance. The program also included 60 hours of life and employability skills, 100 hours of Business English, and 15 hours focused on freelancing and remote work, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience that supports both technical readiness and career transition.
The showcase brought together more than 10 leading industry partners and institutions, including Housing Bank, The Neuron, Inspire, Q-Pros, Estarta, RealSoft, ITG, Cirrusgo, Delv, MCF, and Javna. Representatives from these organizations took part in evaluating the projects and providing participants with practical feedback aligned with current labor market expectations.
By presenting their final projects to professional judging panels, participants gained valuable exposure to industry standards, strengthened their communication and presentation skills, and received direct insights to support their transition into employment opportunities within Jordan’s growing ICT sector.
The ICT Upskilling Program reflects HTU’s continued commitment to preparing young professionals with skills that respond to market needs, while strengthening partnerships with employers and industry leaders. It also reinforces the university’s role in bridging the gap between training and employment, and contributing to the development of a competitive, future-ready national workforce.
