HTU and Youth Grow Activity Host Career Day to Connect ICT Upskilling Program Participants with Employers
Amman – Under the patronage of Prof. Ismael Al-Hinti, President of Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), and in the presence of Eng. Rima Al Qaisi, Chief of Party of the Youth Grow Activity (YGA), HTU, in partnership with YGA — a U.S. Embassy Amman-funded project — organized a Career Day as part of the ICT Upskilling Program implemented under YGA. The event brought together more than 50 public and private sector companies, offering over 200 employment and internship opportunities for participants from ICT and tech-enabled training tracks. It provided a direct platform for trained youth to engage with employers, present their skills, and explore practical pathways into the labor market. The Career Day comes as part of the program’s employment acceleration phase, following a structured training journey designed to equip participants with market-relevant technical and professional skills. Through on-site engagement with participating companies, participants had the opportunity to learn more about available roles, attend initial interviews, and better understand employer expectations across the ICT sector. In his remarks, Prof. Al-Hinti emphasized that the event reflects HTU’s approach to linking training with tangible employment outcomes. He noted that the university’s role extends beyond skills development to creating real connections between young talent and industry, ensuring that graduates and trainees are better prepared to enter the workforce with confidence. For her part, Eng. Al Qaisi highlighted the importance of connecting trained youth with employers as a key step toward increasing income-generating opportunities and supporting youth participation in Jordan’s economy. She noted that partnerships with institutions such as HTU help translate skills development into measurable employment pathways. The initiative reflects HTU and YGA’s shared commitment to strengthening youth employability, supporting private sector engagement, and contributing to Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision by bridging the gap between training and sustainable employment opportunities.
