HTU Celebrates Jordanian Heritage through “From Every Governorate, a Story – Our Heritage Unites Us”

Amman — The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Hussein Technical University organized a national cultural event titled “From Every Governorate, a Story – Our Heritage Unites Us,” held in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Emad Hijazeen, The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Jordan. The event was attended by a large number of students, as well as members of the university’s academic and administrative bodies, alongside representatives from several civil society institutions.

The event aimed to highlight the richness and diversity of Jordanian heritage while strengthening national identity and fostering a sense of belonging among students. This was achieved through dedicated pavilions representing the Kingdom’s various governorates, each showcasing distinctive cultural and artistic elements, including traditional costumes, handicrafts, and local cuisine that reflect the unique character of each region.

The program featured a range of thematic sections, covering traditional arts, folk attire, and popular foods, in addition to innovative interactive experiences utilizing Virtual Reality (VR) technology. These experiences offered participants an engaging journey that blended cultural authenticity with modern digital tools. Several national institutions took part in the event, including the Central Bank of Jordan, the Military Media Directorate, the Jordanian Company for the Revival of Heritage, and the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature.

A highlight of the event was a special folkloric performance by the Yarmouk University Folklore Troupe, which brought an authentic cultural atmosphere to the venue and was warmly received by attendees.

This event reflects Al Hussein Technical University’s ongoing commitment to supporting meaningful extracurricular activities that promote national values and cultural awareness, in line with its mission to prepare a well-rounded generation that takes pride in its national heritage while actively engaging in paths of progress and innovation.
