Amman, Jordan – Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), one of the Crown Prince Foundation’s initiatives, celebrated the graduation of the 14th cohort of its ICT Upskilling Program, funded by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MoDEE) through the Youth, Technology, and Jobs (YTJ) Project, and implemented by the Digital Skills Association (DSA).
The ceremony was held in the presence of Eng. Samira AlZoubi, Secretary-General of the Ministry, alongside representatives from HTU’s strategic partners across the public, military, and private sectors, as well as faculty members and graduates.
The program comes as part of HTU’s ongoing efforts to empower Jordanian youth and prepare them for the evolving ICT labor market. Participants completed an intensive 340-hour training program that included technical, professional, and English language components. The technical training covered seven specialized tracks carefully selected based on market demand, including Full-Stack Web Development, Programming in ASP.NET C#, Manual and Automation Software Testing, Cloud Computing (AWS), Cybersecurity, and Appian Technology.
The ICT Upskilling Program is one of the flagship initiatives delivered by HTU’s Center for Career Development and Community Engagement (CCDC). It targets university graduates and job seekers from across Jordan, aged between 22 and 35, and aims to bridge the gap between academic outcomes and labor market needs by equipping participants with the technical and language skills required to enter competitive ICT roles.
This year, 156 trainees successfully completed the program after being selected from over 1,300 applicants through a rigorous admission process. The program’s impact has also extended to developing the digital skills of employees in vital national institutions. Notably, it featured a distinguished collaboration with the Jordanian Armed Forces – Cybersecurity Directorate and the Public Security Directorate, to train and qualify their staff in advanced technical fields.
HTU emphasized that this program reflects its mission to support national employment initiatives and strengthen partnerships across sectors through practical, market-oriented education designed to enhance youth employability and integration into the workforce.
