HTU Inaugurates Its Annual Career Expo with the Participation of Over 82 Companies and Organizations
[July 29, 2025 – Amman] — Under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Sami Smeirat, Jordan’s Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, and with the attendance of H.E. Mr. Abdulsalam Haykal, Syrian Minister of Communications and Technology, Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), a Crown Prince Foundation initiative, inaugurated its 11th annual Career Expo. The event was organized in partnership with the Digital Skills Association and supported by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship through the Youth, Technology, and Jobs (YTJ) project.
The opening ceremony was attended on behalf of the Minister by H.E. Ms. Samira Al-Zoubi, Secretary-General of the Ministry, who delivered remarks reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to empowering Jordanian youth and preparing them for the evolving digital job market. HTU also welcomed a high-level delegation from the Syrian Arab Republic, reflecting the importance of regional cooperation in education and technology.
In his opening address, HTU President Prof. Ismael Al-Hinti welcomed representatives from participating companies, institutional partners, and sector leaders, emphasizing the significance of this annual event in expanding employment and training pathways for HTU students and alumni. He also highlighted the university’s flagship "Upskilling Program," implemented in partnership with the Digital Skills Association and supported by the Ministry through the YTJ project, as a cornerstone of HTU’s efforts to close the digital skills gap.
The Career Expo targets three primary groups of opportunity seekers: HTU students in search of internships, university graduates from advanced engineering and technology programs, and participants of the upskilling program specializing in cybersecurity, cloud computing, software development, and software testing. The expo serves as a strategic platform for direct engagement between youth and industry leaders, aligning with HTU’s mission to promote employment, foster innovation, and build national capacity in the digital economy.
This year’s expo featured more than 82 participating companies and organizations from the ICT, engineering, energy, and infrastructure sectors, offering over 400 training and job opportunities through specialized exhibit zones spanning technical, digital, and engineering fields.
