HTU Launches National Project to Establish Standards and Certification System for In-Company Trainers in Jordan
Amman — Al Hussein Technical University convened today the inaugural meeting of the National System for Standards and Certifications of In-Company Trainers project, launched under the Supporting Jordanian Educational Institutions in Delivering Labor Market–Oriented Vocational Training (MOVE-HET II) program.
The project is implemented by German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, in partnership with the Government of Canada.
The initiative aims to design and establish a nationally accredited framework for standards and certifications for in-company trainers in Jordan. By doing so, it seeks to bridge the gap between educational outcomes and labor market needs, while developing and unifying practical training systems within enterprises through structured collaboration among the public, private, and academic sectors.
The opening meeting served as a coordination platform to launch joint implementation efforts, outline the project’s overarching framework, objectives, and phases, and clarify the roles and contributions expected from partner institutions in building a sustainable national system that ensures the quality and relevance of workplace-based training.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Yousef Al Abdallat, Assistant President of the Higher Education Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission, alongside a number of Skills Councils chairs, representatives from public and private sector entities, academic institutions, and the GIZ project team.
This project aligns with national efforts to enhance the quality of vocational and technical training in Jordan, strengthen the competencies of in-company trainers, and establish clear accreditation pathways that improve employability and reinforce the competitiveness of the national workforce at both the local and regional levels.
