Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) has been honored by the U.S. Department of Energy as part of the Zero Energy Design Designation (ZEDD) 2024 cohort. HTU’s Bachelor of Architecture with a Zero Energy Concentration Track is among 14 programs from nine leading institutions worldwide that have been recognized for their exemplary commitment to sustainable, energy-efficient building design education.
This designation underscores HTU’s dedication to going beyond traditional building science education by preparing students to design and construct buildings that meet the highest standards of zero-energy efficiency. The recognition places HTU at the forefront of global efforts to address climate change through innovative education.
HTU now joins an elite group of 39 programs from 26 institutions that earned the ZEDD recognition in previous years. The programs recognized in the 2024 cohort include architecture, construction management, and real estate development, and all are lauded for their comprehensive zero-energy curricula and hands-on practicums.
