HTU Signs MoU with the Jordanian Heritage Revival Company to Promote Cultural Awareness and Technical Collaboration
Amman - HTU, one of the Crown Prince Foundation’s initiatives, signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Jordanian Heritage Revival Company (JHRC) to foster collaboration across academic, scientific, research, and tourism fields related to the revival of Jordan’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
The agreement was signed by Prof. Ismael Al-Hinti, President of HTU, and Mr. Shahadeh Abu Hdeib, Chairman of JHRC, at the university’s campus in the King Hussein Business Park.
The MoU aims to build a direct partnership between both institutions to develop joint initiatives that promote tourism awareness among youth, highlight the beauty and importance of Jordan’s heritage, and support community engagement through volunteerism and innovation across various governorates.
During the signing ceremony, Mr. Abu Hdeib expressed his pride in HTU and its significant contribution to education and society, noting that the university provides a world-class learning experience for its students. He also praised the exceptional skills, knowledge, and cultural awareness demonstrated by HTU students, distinguishing them from their peers.
For his part, Prof. Al-Hinti highlighted that the agreement would enhance students’ understanding of Jordan’s cultural and historical identity by integrating their academic and practical projects with the country’s heritage. He emphasized that such cooperation allows students to apply their technical knowledge to real-world heritage projects with deep civilizational value.
Prof. Al-Hinti also underlined the importance of technology in advancing tourism, noting that innovation and digital tools can enhance visitor experiences, boost the tourism sector, and provide opportunities for creative minds to transform their ideas into impactful initiatives in collaboration with HTU’s partners across industries.
It is worth mentioning that HTU was established by the Crown Prince Foundation to bridge the gap between higher education outcomes and labor market needs by equipping Jordanian youth with practical, hands-on, and industry-driven education in engineering and computer science.
Meanwhile, the Jordanian Heritage Revival Company is a leading national institution dedicated to promoting and developing heritage tourism through the revival of Jordan’s ancient civilizations. The company also works to create job opportunities for retired military personnel and local communities, providing around 140 permanent jobs across its project sites in Umm Qais, Shoubak, Petra, and Wadi Rum.
