Umniah Signs MoU with HTU to Prepare Students for Job Market

(November, 1st, 2023, Wedensday) - Amman - Umniah and Al Hussein Technical University, a Crown Prince Foundation initiative, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed to support university students in their pursuit of high-quality technical education, preparing them for the job market through a collaborative academic-industry system.

Prof. Ismael Al-Hinti, President of HTU and Faisal Qamhiyah, CEO of Umniah signed the MOU in the presence of senior officials from both parties.

As per the terms, Umniah will provide paid professional training to HTU students, as well as specialized training for graduates of the Skills Enhancement Program in the IT and Communications field each semester. This practical internship and in-house training initiative equips students with real-world work experience, enhancing their employability.

Umniah will also work closely with HTU's faculty to develop training materials on modern technologies and applications for the School of Computing and Informatics and Skills Enhancement Program in IT and Communications field. Additionally, Umniah will conduct training courses in specialized areas for the trainees.

The MoU extends to organizing conferences, seminars, and workshops to exchange technical knowledge, research equipment, and relevant data. It also involves collaboration on research equipment and facilities, along with the establishment of joint research teams and technology exchange teams for further cooperation.

Prof. Al-Hinti expressed satisfaction with the agreement, emphasizing the mutual commitment of both parties to empower and develop youth. Through this partnership, students will have the opportunity to receive excellent practical training in one of Jordan's largest telecommunications companies, enabling them to acquire the skills and competencies needed for success in the job market.
