Under the Patronage of the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, HTU Hosts Its Ninth ICT Employment Day

Under the patronage of H.E. Ahmad Hanandeh, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, the Career Development and Community Outreach Office at Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) organized the Ninth Employment Day for graduates of the university’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Training Program.
The annual event aims to secure employment opportunities for all 500 graduates within six months of their graduation. Bringing together more than 100 local and international companies from sectors such as business, banking, marketing, and digital media, the day serves as a bridge between industry and the next generation of ICT professionals.
The event was attended by Eng. Nidal Bitar, CEO of the Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (int@j); Eng. Rana Dababneh, Executive Director of Corporate Communication and Sustainability; and Prof. Ismael Al-Hinti, President of Al Hussein Technical University.
In his welcoming remarks, Prof. Al-Hinti emphasized that the event reaffirms the university’s mission, which centers on workforce readiness as a primary goal of education. He highlighted the importance of aligning with His Majesty King Abdullah II’s vision to empower Jordanian youth with the skills and competitiveness needed to thrive globally—not just locally—adding that this day stands as a true reflection of that royal vision.
Prof. Al-Hinti concluded by expressing his gratitude to H.E. Minister Hanandeh for his patronage, underscoring the government’s ongoing commitment to advancing the ICT sector. He also extended appreciation to the participating companies for their invaluable collaboration in offering job opportunities and building graduates’ confidence.
During a panel discussion held as part of the event, Minister Hanandeh underscored that all sectors today increasingly rely on ICT specialists to sustain growth and innovation. He added that the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship continuously assesses market demand and supports all entities working to enhance digital and technical skills among Jordanian youth.
Eng. Nidal Bitar noted that university degrees alone are no longer sufficient without practical skills applicable to the job market, stressing the rapid evolution of the ICT sector and the urgent need for educational and training institutions to keep pace.
Meanwhile, Eng. Rana Dababneh commended HTU for its tangible efforts in bridging education and employment, emphasizing that entrepreneurship is as vital as employment itself, forming an essential part of the economic ecosystem that ensures sustainable opportunities for youth.
The ICT Training Program is one of several initiatives offered by HTU’s Career Development and Community Outreach Office. The program focuses on building practical and technical competencies in the ICT field. To date, it has trained over 2,500 young Jordanians, equipping them with technical, professional, and English language skills that enhance their employability in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
